About me

I am a qualified SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) 

Experienced SpLD (Specific Learning Disabilities) teacher.

Behaviour / SEMH (Social Emotional & Mental Health) advisor.  


I am an education advisor with more than two decades of leadership, teaching, staff development and curriculum management experience in a broad range of settings including PRU's. 


I provide SENCo Consultancy to schools and provide training.

I am a calm and positive teacher with a student-centred approach. 

I am passionate about supporting students with SpLD - Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia & ADD.

During my career I have taught English, Graphics, Art, Design & Technology, Careers, ASDAN & CoPE, Literacy Skills, Study Skills & EFL

I have been a SENCo since 2011 and have worked in Special (SEBD) and Mainstream Schools and am a member of NASEN

I have been an inclusion manager and developed consistent and positive behaviour management policy and practice for schools. 

I have written many statements of educational needs & statutory assessment (EHCP) documents and supported parents through this process.

I produce pupil passports, write SMARTA targets and graduated response evidence that supports EHCNA submissions. 

I advise on assistive technology, access arrangements and sustainable learning models. 


Many students I have supported have complex needs which may also include emotional, behavioural and social needs. 

I have been very privileged to work with students who have entrusted me with their triggers for stress, anxiety and challenging behaviours.                                

Therapeutic approaches I use include Lego Build to Express, Therapeutic Story Writing, Mindfulness and Expressive Arts Projects.


Head of Educational Services for Scanning Pens

I am responsible for sharing and developing good educational practice for Scanning Pen Ltd  I train and work with educational professionals, in a variety of settings through the delivery of presentations and seminars. The thrust of this work is to improve outcomes for pupils with SEN. I design and deliver national and international CPD training for teachers of pupils with SEN in the use of Scanning Pen assistive technology.
