Ask The SENCo. A Poem. By Julia Clouter
This is a idea about sharing our knowledge,
harnessing skills to build up our strength.
Where SENDCo's and teachers, governors and leaders,
TA's and HLTA's step up from the bench.
By coming together we are the momentum,
we are the knowledge, the hands and the feet, The technical know how, the visionary mapper,
the place where the challenge and solution meet.
We gather the answers, we share inspiration,
and foster awareness and balance the trends.
Ensuring provision is right for our children,
each of them valued, unique and yes ... SEND.
We see them, they need us, they are at our heart. Our futures, our worries, our flames and our sparks. The pathway to reading - a moral imperative.
Toward independence - and breaking the narrative.
By sharing the tools, the research and the strategy,
bite-sized insights, the vision of equity.
Together we navigate, plan and sustain
our energy, willingness, care and remain.
The needs often complex, the workload unique,
the art of the possible is what we seek.
We all burn so brightly, and all at both ends,
So, share here your, questions. You are among friends.
Welcome.
Together we can manage the workload,
and make inclusion possible without burning out.
This is a space for you.
Educators and inclusion specialists are here to uplift the voices of SEND professionals, offer practical advice. Our community will provide a sense-check, or friendly tea break, an idea surf or a gem of wisdom and guidance.
Join us and we can build a community where collaboration is always on the table, even when all the good intentions are now on the floor. We know the reality of what we are managing, even when others are oblivious.
What makes this space different? It is our authenticity, and our willingness to share our mistakes as well as our triumphs. And of course, it is our sense of humour.
